Light as Medicine: How Light Impacts Health and Longevity
Join us for an enlightening session with Dr. Mark Pettus as we explore the profound science of Light as Medicine. For millennia, human biology has been orchestrated by the rhythms of nature, yet our modern lives are spent largely indoors under artificial lighting that disconnects us from these essential patterns. Dr. Pettus will reveal how light serves as "biological information," synchronizing every cell in your body with the natural day-night cycle. You will learn how the modern mismatch between our environment and our internal clocks can drive chronic conditions (including obesity, diabetes, and depression) and why returning to our ancestral light patterns is a cornerstone of longevity.
Dr. Pettus will guide us through practical, science-backed strategies to help you reconnect with the rhythm of life your body was designed to follow. Discover how a few minutes of morning sunlight can anchor your biological clock, and how the "red-orange" spectrum of a sunset triggers essential restoration and repair. By understanding how to use specific wavelengths of light at the right times, you can dramatically improve your sleep quality, cognitive performance, and mood. This event is a unique opportunity to learn how simple, thoughtful adjustments to your daily light exposure can yield profound benefits for your long-term health and vitality.

Curious to learn more about the scientific benefits of Breathonance?
In working with different breathing techniques, Breathonance teaches participants how to modulate internal biological rhythms by creating perceptible shifts in sympatho-vagal balance, which has relevance to the sleep-wake circadian cycle. Breathonance practitioners experience measurable changes in breathing frequency, heart rate variability, oxygen saturation, and resting blood pressure.
After just twelve weeks of practice, breathwork techniques improve static lung volumes, dynamic airflow, and breath-holding times. This can be profoundly impactful; in addition to providing mental clarity and emotional calm, Breathonance helps participants achieve (and remain at) their level of peak potential. Regular practice becomes the lynchpin on a life-long journey towards well-being.
